Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is a Norwegian song writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is an album released in May 2015 by Decca Records. It has received high praise from the blogs and the press. Half the World Away - by the Oasis - for John Lewis' Christmas ad and Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole is already two notable covers that she has recorded. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding a piano hidden in her attic and being captivated by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes urged Aurora to pursue music, not as an income or as a pastime and as a way to develop. To achieve this she wrote her first original compositions. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her favourite writers. Responding to her mother's suggestions that she should not be aiming at achieving fame through her songwriting, but instead realize the importance of themselves and the impact they have on society. She started playing piano at age six and writing music at age nine. The family members didn't know about it until she turned 14. Aurora's accomplishments were never the goal of her.
