Professor Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is at the University of California Davis. She is widely credited with beginning the current science-based study of children's memories of eyewitnesses and children's victim witnesses within lawful contexts. Professor Goodman who is a prolific author with many research publications as well as numerous awards to her credit and is the recipient of numerous national and global distinctions. She has offered policy and research consultations to numerous agencies and government departments from all over the world. She has been a consultant with the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center and was previously known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has memberships with numerous professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is a member of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding Member of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has served as president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division as well as three divisions of the Child and Family Practice and Policy Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
